Fellowship Center is a modern, secure, one-bedroom, 122 apartment complex for the low mailcenterincome elderly or disabled individual. We are located in Mattoon, IL at 301 Lafayette Ave. East adjacent to the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Nursing Home.

Our residents are comprised of 62 years and older single or married or disabled individuals who must be able to meet our eligibility obligations. We use our basic income levels because our building was constructed under an agreement with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development under Section 8 of the National Housing Act specifically designed for very low andbeautyparlor extremely low income senior citizens.

Proposed monthly rents are comprised of approximately 30% of the total net monthly income of all residing in the apartment or 10% of the total gross income, whichever is greater. A utility allowance is then deducted from the proposed rent figure.

Water and trash, plus an allowance for utilities are included in the monthly rent. Telephones and Internet connectivity will need to be installed and paid by the resident. Local basic cable television is currently available from Mediacom for $15.00 per month.

Each apartment features carpeted living rooms, halls and livingroombedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom feature vinyl flooring. The kitchen comes with an electric range and refrigerator. Each apartment has its own air conditioning and heating controls for your personal comfort. Each apartment has a smoke alarm and access to each apartment is from a secure, interior hallway. The apartments feature ample closets and storage space. The interior and exterior walls offer excellent sound control. The entire complex is protected by an emergency alarm system.

The Fellowship Center offers FREE off-street parking for the residents and their guests.

There is a coin operated laundry facility within the building for residents to do their laundry.

The Fellowship Center offers an extensive library including video tapes and audio books.grocery

There is an on site grocery store for your convenience, and a resale shop run by the residents.

Everyone needs to look their best, so The Fellowship Center offers a fully staffed beauty salon.

When you don’t feel like cooking the Peace Meal program serves a noon meal every Monday through Friday in our dining room. There also is a complete community room with a dance floor available where monthly social events with live music are held.

All entrances have security locks and the front entrance also offers a phone entry system. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day and elevators are provided for libraryaccess to the 2nd and 3rd floors.

A 9-passenger van with a wheelchair lift is provided for the residents to visit shopping centers and entertainment venues within the Mattoon Community.
